MusickEd.com is a division of The Dallas School of Music, Inc. A truly 'one of a kind' facility located in Carrollton, TX, DSM draws families from the entire metroplex with its unique philosophy and personal approach to music education.

DSM serves students of all ages and levels of ability, from infants to toddlers in our award winning children's programs, to young beginners through senior citizens in our individual instruction programs. Our faculty has vast experience in working with traditional students as well as those with special needs and developing programs for a diverse and ever changing marketplace.

Celebrating over a decade of educational services, DSM is staffed by full-time, degreed professional music educators with a desire for creating lasting relationships. It is this unique combination of personal attention, a passion for education and an entrepreneurial spirit that led to the creation of MusickEd.com.

Our Name

Our Mission

	Why is there a "K" in our name? We concur with educator and music philosopher Christopher Small in his book Musicking which suggests that music should be ‘viewed as an act instead of a thing. Who is doing it? Where? And who is listening?’ We begin to understand music as a verb instead of a noun. Small states that "the act of musicking establishes in the place it is happening a set of relationships, and it is in those relationships that the meaning of the act lies".
The interaction established during the act of making or learning about music becomes the primary concern for all our Music Websites. With this view, we begin to understand the relationship between music, people, history and the larger culture.
How do you pronounce our name? The "K" is silent so it's simply spoken as "Music • Ed".
